Middle School

Middle School bridges the important developmental gap between Primary School and the Academy. Students are introduced to more rigorous and advanced concepts and develop independent learning strategies while receiving academic, social, and emotional guidance and support.

Lower Middle (Grades 5-6)

In the Lower Middle years at SNU Lab School, students navigate a crucial educational transition, bridging the gap between primary school learning and the challenges of upper middle school. Our curriculum introduces advanced concepts across various subjects, fostering deep academic understanding and independent learning strategies. This equips students to be self-reliant and confident learners, supported continuously by dedicated educators for personalized attention and assistance.

Our classrooms are dynamic spaces that ignite a love for learning, with activities designed to spur curiosity and inquiry. The teaching approach mixes structured lessons with interactive, hands-on experiences, enhancing engagement and effectiveness. We also introduce project-based learning, allowing students to apply their knowledge in real-world situations.

But the Lower Middle experience isn't just about academics; it's also about nurturing emotional and social growth. Students engage in collaborative activities, communication, and community-building, laying a solid foundation for their continued educational journey and overall development.

Upper Middle (Grades 7-8)

In the Upper Middle years at SNU Lab School, students prepare for high school with a curriculum focused on deepening their academic strengths, especially in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM). Our rigorous program ignites curiosity and fosters a passion for learning, encouraging students to dive into complex topics and explore their interests through a STEAM-centric approach that blends theory with practical application.

Critical thinking, problem-solving, and innovation are at the heart of our teaching, with project-based learning and hands-on experiments helping students develop not just academically, but also essential life skills like resilience, creativity, and teamwork. Our teachers provide a challenging yet supportive environment, aiding students in exploring their potential as they prepare for high school.

Leadership roles, extracurricular activities, and community service projects are key components of the Upper Middle experience, promoting responsibility, collaboration, and civic engagement. At SNU Lab School, our commitment is to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and experiences necessary for success in high school and beyond, shaping them into well-rounded, thoughtful, and engaged individuals.
