Camp Soar

The Lab School extends academic and project based learning into a summer session known as Camp Soar! Camp Soar is a highly successful summer enrichment series designed for students to receive individual attention in small groups. Instructors are highly qualified and certified educators.

We create summer extensions with our students' health, wellness, and optimal learning needs in mind. 

SNU Lab School is proud to be a leader in academic Christian modeling. 

All camps located at SNU Lab School, 3100 N Rockwell, Bethany, OK 73008 except the Glass Etching Camp and Woodworking Camp  (both located at the Mustang High School Wood Shop) the Musical Theatre Production Camp (located in Cantrell Music Hall, on SNU's main campus), and the Pickleball Camp (located at the pickleball courts on Peniel and 42nd St., SNU's main campus).

NOTE: Children enrolled in both morning and afternoon camps may bring a lunch from home.

*All camps meet Monday through Friday.

*One camp t-shirt will be given to each child, enrolled by May 10th, regardless of how many camps they attend.

Camp Read-A-Lot

COST: $250 for this 2-week camp

Join us for Camp Read-A-Lot, where books come to life through fun, hands-on activities!  This camp is perfect for campers who have finished 3rd-6th grade.  Each day features interactive stations, Reader's Theatre, and exploring new books.  Whether you're a seasoned bookworm or just starting out, this camp offers a mix of reading, creativity, and fun that will inspire every young reader!

Dive into Summer (Early Childhood Camp)

COST: $250 for this 2 week camp 

Summer will soon be here and it's time to celebrate with fun, hands-on SUMMER-themed activities for children who are 4 years of age or will be in kindergarten for the 2025-2026 school year.  Inside or outside, math, science, and language activities will keep learning fun as we enjoy the summer season.

Session DIVE - June 9-20 (9:00 am - 12:00 pm) 

* for children who are 4 years old or going into Kindergarten

Musical Theater Production Camp

COST: $350 for this 2-week camp

Camp Soar is excited to offer a two-week musical theatre camp where students will learn and perform Annie Jr.!  Auditions will take place in Cantrell Hall on Saturday, April 26, and students will need to bring a 24-36 bar cut of a song from a musical.  Callbacks will take place at 2:00 on the 26th.  

You must be enrolled in this camp before you audition!  Once you are enrolled, you will be sent a link to sign up for an audition.


All students seeking a speaking/singing role will be required to audition and attend callbacks.  If you are unable to audition on April 26 and would still like to participate, please email Audra Faust at afaust@snu.edu and she will be able to speak to you about video auditions or just being a part of the large ensemble. 


There will be 2 performances on June 20 at 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm and 2 performances on June 21 at 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm.  Every student participating will receive 4 complimentary tickets to share. Tickets will go on sale the second week of camp.  Camp will not start until 1:00 pm on Friday, June 20.  We need you to feed your student lunch and give them lots of rest on this day, before they arrive.  A pizza dinner will be provided before the performances on Friday.

Project-Based Camps (Duration: 1-week each)

All Things Cookie Camp

COST: $150 per session (Supplies Provided)

 Get ready to roll up your sleeves and dive into the sweet world of cookie making!  In this fun, hands-on camp, we'll spend the week baking a variety of cookies--from classic basics to unique, creative creations.  Whether you're a beginner or familiar in the kitchen, you'll learn the secrets to perfecting cookies like candy bar cookies, no-bake cookies, sugar cookies, peanut butter cookies, and more!

We'll also cover essential decorating techniques with buttercream and royal icing, plus have the chance to get creative with your own designs.  Along the way, you'll pick up important kitchen safety tips, baking advice, and tricks for making your cookies the talk of your friends.

By the end of the week, you'll walk away with a variety of delicious cookies and the skills to bake and decorate with ease!  Each student will also bring home a personalized, bound recipe book featuring all the delicious recipes we've made and pictures of their hard work and fun in the kitchen.

Babysitting 101 Camp

COST: $150 per camp  (Supplies provided)

Become a Confident, Responsible Babysitter!

Ready to take on the responsibility of caring for kids?  Whether you're looking to earn extra money or simply love spending time with children, our babysitting camp is the perfect way to build your skills and boost  your confidence to become a trusted, go-to sitter!

You will learn childcare basics, first aid and safety, handling behavior, and communication skills.  You will also create your own business materials, such as business cards and flyers to advertise your new skills.  Each student, upon completion of the camp, will receive a certificate for being an official trained babysitter!

Baking Camp

COST: $150 per camp (Supplies Provided)

Campers will have the opportunity to work together to bake multiple recipes, including breads, breakfast pastries, savory items, and sweet treats!  Throughout the week, we will discuss and practice good kitchen hygiene and etiquette, including kitchen safety and working together.  Cooperation with one another will be key to a successful and fun baking experience!

Code and Roll With Spheros Camp

COST: $150 per camp  (Supplies provided)

Get ready for an exciting week of coding, creativity, and fun!  This interactive camp allows students to combine hands-on robotics with real-world problem-solving through fun, engaging challenges using Sphero robots.

Whether your child is a beginner or has some experience with coding, they'll develop problem-solving skills, teamwork, and creativity while programming Spheros to complete obstacle courses and play games.

Engineering Camp

COST: $150 per session (supplies provided)


In the Engineering Camp, campers will use the engineering design process to solve daily challenges with robots. Activities include racing, designing a logo, creating a game, and making a take-home journal. The challenges teach campers the skills they'll need for a final showcase on the last day.

Glass Etching Camp

COST: $150 per session (Supplies Provided)

REQUIREMENT: For students who have completed 2nd Grade and up. 

NOTE:  Students needing transportation between SNU Lab School camps and Glass Etching Camp must provide their own transportation.

 In all sessions, campers will complete multiple techniques of etching on various materials (mugs, plates, mirrors, etc.) using a sand blaster. They will cover the materials with a plastic material, then cut out the areas that they are going to sandblast with an X-acto knife.  All safety precautions involving the equipment will be followed. 

*Returning campers will be working on new projects.

Lab Pros Camp

COST: $150 per session (supplies provided)


This camp will be filled with science fun!  A new experiment (or maybe two) based in physics and chemistry will be performed everyday, creating an opportunity for each student to explore our world with new tools and techniques. Students will learn the importance of the scientific method, lab safety, and cooperation. No prior knowledge or experience needed!

Macramé Camp

COST: $150 per camp  (Supplies provided)

In this camp, we will explore a beautiful form of art that began hundreds of years ago.  Students will learn basic knots, and will end each day with a finished piece of art!  With some focused effort, students will learn how to work macrame cord into keychains, pencil pouches, and more!  No experience is needed!

Mixed Media Art Camp

COST: $150 per camp (Supplies Provided)


Come have fun and create something new each day! In the Multi Media Art Camp, every day we'll be working with different art mediums to create new projects and/or to add on to the project from the day before.  By the end of the week, you'll have several art projects that will be brought home that show all the fun new mediums and techniques you've learned that include everything from painting on canvas, working with unique mediums, and clay sculpting! 


Students who have completed Kindergarten through 12 grade are encouraged to join in the fun!

Mock Trial Camp

COST: $150 per session (supplies provided) 


In this camp, kids will explore the justice system and how each person in a courtroom is important to the outcome. Each student will take their shot at the roles of attorneys, plaintiffs, and defendants trying to turn the courts to their favor! This immersive experience will teach students about law and public speaking culminating in a mock trial competition where they can show off their new-found skills.

Pickleball Camp

COST:  $150 per session (supplies provided)

Get ready for a week of fun, fitness, and friendly competition at our Pickleball Camp!  This camp is perfect for young athletes looking to learn and develop their skills in one of the fastest-growing sports in the country.

Camp Highlights:

*Learn the fundamentals of pickleball, including serving, volleys, and game strategy.

*Fun drills and games to build coordination, teamwork, and confidence.

*Friendly matches and mini-tournaments.

*Supportive coaching in a positive and encouraging environment

No experience?  No problem!  Our experienced coaches will provide age-appropriate instruction, making sure every camper has a blast while improving their skills.  Whether your child is new to pickleball or looking to take their game to the next level, this camp is the perfect place to learn and grow!  So join us for a week of active fun and make new friends on the court!

LOCATION:  This camp is located at the SNU pickleball courts (Peniel and 42nd St.) on SNU's main campus.  Students needing transportation from Pickleball Camp to another camp that is held at the SNU Lab School must provide their own transportation.

Percussion / Recorders Camp

COST: $150 per camp  (Supplies provided)

In this hands-on camp, students will be introduced to a few different percussion instruments such as Orff instruments, xylophones, drums, sticks, and cymbals, as well as learning how to play the recorder.  Students will get to play instruments every time they come to camp, plus learn how to read the music that goes with each instrument.  Children will also begin music theory and music appreciation as well.

This camp is for anyone with or without music experience.  We hope you'll join us for this fun camp!

Robotics Camp

COST: $150 per camp  (Supplies provided)

Campers will work in groups to build and control a Lego robot. After the Lego robot is built, then students will write Scratch coding to guide the robot through various activities.

STEAM Camp
(Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics)

COST: $150 per camp  (Supplies provided)


The Engage Learning STEM Maker summer curriculum is structured to provide upper elementary and beyond with hands-on STEM experience over the course of fifteen hours of guided activities. Utilizing Squishy Circuits, Snap Circuits, TinkerCAD, Makey Makey and Scratch, students develop a deeper understanding of electricity, circuits, 3D design, and computer programming.  Engage's Distance Learning team delivers real-time STEAM experiences using hands-on discovery tools.


Using TinkerCAD, students put into practice the distinction between 2D and 3D forms as they model a unique figurine of their own design.  Learning objectives include design fundamentals, geometric form, and 3D conceptualization.  By building circuits of their very own, students develop a strong understanding of the foundations of electricity and the components required for a functional circuit.  Learning objectives include the scientific method, conductivity, and prototyping.  With the application of Scratch, MIT Media Lab's block-coding language, students discover the principles and structure of computer programming as they design their own personalized video game.  Learning objectives include problem solving, computational thinking, and creative expression.

Sweet Copycat Cooking Camp

COST: $150 per camp  (Supplies provided)

*For students that have completed 2nd grade and up

Ready to recreate some of your favorite sweet treats from famous brands?  Join us for a fun-filled adventure in our Sweet Copycat Cooking Camp, where we'll be making delicious copycat versions of popular goodies you know and love!  Throughout the week, we'll turn the kitchen into a creative playground as students bake and make a variety of fun and tasty treats.

In our safe and exciting environment, students will learn essential kitchen skills, practice safe cooking techniques, and build confidence while creating mouthwatering masterpieces.  They'll have the chance to experiment with fun flavors, designs, and decorations, all while having a blast in the kitchen.

By the end of the week, each child will bring home a personalized, bound recipe book featuring all the recipes we made, plus photos of them hard at work creating their sweet treats.  It's the perfect way to make new friends, learn valuable skills, and take home some sweet memories (and even sweeter recipes)!

COST: $200 per session  (Supplies provided for basic projects)

REQUIREMENT: For students who have completed 2nd Grade and up. 

NOTE:   Students needing transportation between SNU Lab School camps and Woodworking Camp must provide their own transportation.

 In all sessions, students will learn how to use a variety of woodworking tools and machines. Safety will be stressed as each student makes his/her own pen on a lathe as well as other daily projects. 

 *Returning campers will be working on new projects.
